Another wonderful birthday dinner. Only the salad could have been any better.
Everything was great. Price would be the only thing i would change.
The experience took about an hour longer than usual. We arrived at 4:30pm, and didn't leave until 7:30pm. Considering we had only cheese, salad, and chocolate courses, everything was quite slow. It took 2 requests and about 20 minutes to get sugar for iced tea, we had to remind him twice to please bring us the meat add-ons for the cheese, about 4 different people came to our table to ask if we wanted more water, tea, etc., and they all seemed confused about who was going to bring us what and when. Also, we were celebrating a graduation, and typically when it's a celebration, a piece of cheesecake with a candle is brought. However, it was also Mother's Day, so I completely understand if that's why that didn't occur.

Here is my YELP review: Hit and Miss - Big MISS on Wednesday May 10 Went there for a special occasion (a birthday that was NEVER acknowledged even though we said that was why we were there) - it is a good 45 minute drive so can't go as often as when there was one in Greensboro. As such, we expect to have a great experience. It is far away and pricey so when the service is bad, the experience goes downhill fast. We arrived for our 5:30 reservation at 5:30. Got seated around 5:40 (we were only people in line at the time). Had not had any attention until about 6 when the person who sat us decided to take our order (and really didn't know what to do with it apparently) and bring water. We had brought wine so I asked for that to be opened. Another 10 minutes passes. Fondue isn't fast but it has now been 45 minutes since we walked in the door and we have nothing but a glass of water. OK, a waiter comes finally. Still no opened wine. We do get our order taken - have to go through the litany a second time as the other person did not pass anything on. Owner comes by and finally our wine is opened. It has been almost an HOUR since we had arrived. The rest of the evening is the same - inattentive service by our waiter. We were there over 3 hours trying to get through our meal. When service is good and attention being paid, this is tolerable. When basically ignored for most of the evening it is excruciating. Last thing, we had an offer for a box of strawberries for the birthday we were celebrating. I had informed the restaurant when I made my reservation, then reminded them when we walked in, again when we sat, towards the end of the meal and then when we finally got the check. We are ready to leave and still no strawberries. As we were walking out the door, I asked where they were - got a rude look and after 5-10 minutes they appeared. This is not our first visit to this location. The evening highly depends on the server. Tonight, our experience was terrible from start to finish. We won't go again unless our usual server is there. To far a drive and expensive for an awful evening.
There was way too much time in between courses. We had 4:30 reservations, which we were seated within 5 minutes. The waitress did a great job explaining things since we had not been since last July, so our orders were in by 5:00pm. We didn't walk out of the restaurant until 7:45. Frankly, we were tired of sitting and waiting. Also, I'd suggest The Melting Pot provide timers at each table so customers don't have to hear people's cell phones going off all during the evening every 2 to 3 minutes! We didn't set ours out of courtesy to tables around us. It's easy to estimate 2 - 3 minutes, and people should just lift their forks and see if the food is ready. Don't let your timers continue to sound off during your meal please.
My experience at the Melting Pot was excellent. I had heard some bad reviews on it, and so I was worried going in. However, the food provided was of a high quality! The service too was great. The gentleman who served our table was friendly and courteous. I would not hesitate to recommend the Melting Pot to a friend!
Caitlin did a fantastic job as our server. She is always an up person and she is very good at her job! She is a credit to the restaurant.
Alex was a great waiter and did an awesome job! He's very knowledgeable and personable. We all had fun talking to him
Brie wasn't melting, cheese didn't taste great maybe due to temp issues
