As always it was a delightful night out. We choose the melting pot for our special occasion/celebration dinners because the service and the food never disappoint. The servers are always knowledgeable and go above and beyond to make it a wonderful experience. We always recommend the melting pot.
Someone near us burnt something and the smoke choked me and my quest.
We had a table of two, one had visited before and one had not. With it being my first time there the menu was a little overwhelming at first but the server very easily explained how the entire dining process worked including the menu selections. He even suggested certain pairings and entrees based on our preferences of the meat choices. He was very attentive, but not overbearing. We even had a manager visit the table right around the halfway point to check in on our visit.
A handle on the pot which does not get hot would be helpful
Staff was very friendly but the waiter never explained the menu or how the process worked. The last time I was there, all the cheese fondues were listed on the menu and now only a couple were and when I was looking for a certain one that we usually always get, I asked about the other cheese fondue options and it seemed to be unknown.
We had a delicious anniversary dinner. We ate every bit of the spinach artichoke cheese fondue - we love the pretzel bread with it. I love the pine nuts with my salad - I wish that I could buy those by the bottle. The teriyaki sirloin is my favorite entree, especially with green goddess or teriyaki sauce. Our waitress made sure that we had everything that we needed and weren't ever waiting.
We had a very unfortunate instance where someone in our party became severely ill after the cheese and salad courses, resulting in our needing to leave before completing our entrees and desserts. This appeared to upset our waitress, as she turned from perfectly friendly and attentive to abrupt and impatient.
The waitress was wonderful, the food was delicious, and everything was prompt and magnificent. There are absolutely no complaints from us, and we can't wait to eat here again.
There were no major issues to write about here. We didn't realize that doubling our cheese appetizer would push the "cheese-only" portion of the bill to almost $40 but it is our fault that we didn't ask. The aesthetics of the building are wonderfully cozy and the recent remodel is looking perfect.
The dining room was very noisy, which was surprising for a Tuesday evening. This was primarily due to a number of young children dining. As well, there was some kind of weird buzz with the table stove when it was turned on. The server was decent but wasn't quite the exceptional service that we are used to from The Melting Pot. While the ladies room was clean, the men's room was not. As far as the meal - it was delicious but it was obvious that the portion sizes (especially for the broth and chocolate) were significantly less than our previous trips. It wasn't a bad experience, just wasn't the "WOW" factor that we have come to expect from this establishment. We love the remodeling as it gives the restaurant a fresh, updated feel.
