I made a reservation for 4 for 2 couples and was VERY disappointed because they gave us a one burner table. I was just there in Feb with my family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) and we had 2 burners. We asked to be moved and they said they could not accommodate it. I did not like sharing a burner with about couple because we could not order separate items. When making reservations consumers need to be asked about how many couples are attending
The wait staff was very friendly and we were seated in a timely manner. It took almost 15 minutes for our server to be able to get our drink orders and at least another 15 to get the drinks. The food quality was good the quantity was not. I'm not usually a stickler about that but when you spend $150 on dinner you'd like to leave full and also not be there for 2.5 hours. The lack of any underlying music other than in the bathroom made for a little bit of an odd dining environment.
Our reservation was at 8:00 p.m., but we were not seated until 8:15 p.m. We arrived and checked in at 7:50 p.m. Not a large problem, but something the survey did ask for. I'm not sure how I'd improve, as it was a Friday evening and the restaurant was busy. I would say that adding additional staff may help improve the situation.
    All good
The food was good. The service was poor (slow). The portions were inadequate for the price we pay. The server questioned why I needed the bill separated ... "mmm, I'm not sure why you would want separate bills, but whatever..." I was actually on a business trip and could expense my meal, but would not cheat my company so paid for my wife and daughter on a separate credit card... We chose the Coq Au Vin, but the server didn't explain that all the food comes out pink because of the wine in the cooking oil.
Has a lovely time, I loved the small private space, the chocolate was my favorite!!
Our server took over 15 minutes to even stop by the table to welcome us, ask for drinks, bring water...anything. Every time he left, it seemed to take quite some time to return. Then we watched him put his coat on and just leave. We were then left there for quite some time before who appeared to be a bartender, as she didn't mention who she was or why or what happened. She just took over with no apologies or explanation of what was going on. The service continued to be extremely slow, with long periods of not seeing anyone. The private and tall booth made it impossible to see and flag anyone down. I brought my wife here for her birthday, with are closest friends, and all of us left disappointed with our overall experience. Paying $150 for our just or two meals, I would expect at least some kind of respectful treatment. But instead, I can get better service at a Denny's and pay 1/5 the price.
During this visit, a drink we did not order another table was charged to us accidentally. That was quickly remedied. My wife and I talked about what you could have done better at this facility. My wife commented that the women's restroom was a little worn and could use some refurbishment. The only other thing that I can offer is something you have little control over. A couple of the patrons showed up basically wearing pool wear, and I'm not sure if guy had a shower this week. For a restaurant as elegant as nice as a Melting Pot I found the retire lacking. I don't know if yours is a she can't do anything about that.
Our server stopped and chatted with us especially my daughter who's birthday we were celebrating. She put a candle in one of her brownie in the desert. She is the best server we have had in our many visits to the Melting Pot. She stopped by frequently to check on us even know they were very busy, I believe we finished up our meals and were able to leave in record time. I appreciated that she was respectful of our time.
We ALWAYS have a great tone at the Melting Pot. We love the food and the atmosphere. People are very friendly. The servers seem more rushed nowadays. Definitely not a deal breaker, but lost a little element off the experience when your servers rush off. We could tell that we were staying longer than they wanted us to. Courses overlapped and we were asked more than one time if we were finished with the course we were on. Still always enjoy our time.
