This experience was great! We were celebrating birthdays and our server made sure to make it extra special. Thanks SAM!
Andrew was a wonderful waiter. Never waited for anything. He explained everything to us. Food tasted wonderful. What a great treat.
Our waitress, Sam, was exceptional. She told us that she has only been working there a short period but you would never be able to tell. She was very personable and confident.
The food is delicious. The service is always great. I do hate the tile table tops. It is easy to spill drinks because they don't slide easily over the grout.
The cheese fondue was incredible. My wife loved dessert. The entree however was pathetic. I stopped and got a big Mac after spending over $100 on dinner. Seriously, I didn't realize the French quarter meant a quarter of a normal size meal. We went with friends and there was one tiny bowl of vegetables for the table. There was like 4 pieces of broccoli and a handful of cut potatoes for 4 people. Sorry, I forgot there was 6 mushrooms. Totally pathetic. I have already been cautioning people not to go to Melting Pot. Very disappointed.
The only "issue" we had with this visit was with our waiter. He said he was new but perhaps he needed a little more training. He didn't completely explain everything to us (but we already knew what we needed to know so it wasn't a big deal) and he seemed to be struggling quite a bit. We also waited longer than expected between courses as well when we first arrived. I believe we waited about 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us once we were seated.
We had a lot of fun joking and just chatting with our server. She was very helpful and polite as well. She was easy to talk to and very quick and efficient with all of our orders and additions to our night out to help make it the perfect date night, as per usual when we go to the Melting Pot.
I think the "tastes" of items could be explained with more detail on the menu. Maybe a guide to help you choose the perfect cheese & cooking style. It's very expensive and honestly I didn't enjoy my entree what so ever. I could barley stand the smell of the cooking oil.
Zach J was an outstanding server. He was above and beyond on our allergy concerns. We were on file as having the allergies and Zach confirmed and reassured us about the gluten free items. Zach was our server back in November and he was very memorable. We will be requesting him next time we visit soon.
I do not have much to offer except that the table design really interferes with experience when you are at a table for 8. The controls knobs were in my lap and I had to constantly move out of the way or do it myself. Also, the servers had a hard time getting to the fondue pots and needed to stretch over the table to get to them. I suggest you provide longer utensils or have a side prep station for these type of tables.
