Salad course needs work, maybe mixed greens, artichoke, Greek olives, and feta... Some thing with big flavor. Antipasto, some new dressing... Would love to have a straight up balsamic vinegar and olive oil dressing. Also maybe beer flights to go along with wine flight.. maybe a pairing menu based on his and hers ( beer course for him/ wine for her.
The only thing was when we received the dish of meats, forgot which one was what, but really didn't matter to me, however, my guest really needed to know as they do not eat certain meats. The meats were small enough that they should not have had a negative effect, but it would have been nice to have them labeled somehow.
This was the best server I have had at this restaurant. He was quick and efficient and fiendly :)
Our server was phenomenal, super friendly, and we had some great conversations. I enjoyed the speed at which we got our food. The only thing that was a little tough was the three of us sharing one pot. One pot just seemed like it was a little crowded for all of us, and we struggled a little bit to keep our food on the forks because they kept getting stuck together.
Forgive me, I don't remember the staff members name, our server worked for melting pot at another location maybe in the Midwest? Where ever it was he spoke of it being the highest money maker for St. Jude's. (We had a coupon that we had bought in support of St. Jude's on our previous visit). He was very friendly, knowledgeable and you felt like you'd known him forever.
I don't know if there is something you guys can do to make the experience better. I guess it is the nature of the restaurant, where guests cook their own meat and vegetables. It is all new to us, so I figure it is a matter of getting used to. The lighting could be a bit brighter, though. But again, that's just me! Overall, it was an interesting experience, indeed!
portions are definitely smaller compared to the past. even the cheese fondue is lower in the pot.
Winston came by the table and checked on us. John, our server was very attentive. He described the items on the menu and gave recommendations. Our drinks were refilled quickly and often without being asked. Food came out quickly and the flow of the meal was well paced out. John definitely made our experience very pleasant:
See previous entry. Bring back the mushroom salad. We didn't like the sweetness in the pine nuts that are part of the Caesar salad. In the chocolate fondue we order dark chocolate with Chambord. There wasn't really enough of the liquor as none of us could really taste the raspberry. Also, we order Bailey's with milk chocolate and couldn't really taste anything in that one either.
    Spectacular server.
