The food and service was excellent... however the atmosphere was awful... there were huge parties of kids which was fine accept they were running back and forth, yelling, screaming, climbing all over their booths.... even our child was complaining how loud they were... I respect that they are our celebrating however this is still an expensive establishment where other customers are present and if their parents aren't telling them to stop then management needs to step in this is not the first time we have experienced this at the Darien location ....
We love the melting pot and go once a year for our anniversary. This was the first negative experience we have had. It seemed like only one person was taking care of the whole restaurant. We felt rushed and ignored. It was a special night for us and we felt ripped off of the great experience we have had in the past.
    - The food should be prepared fresh at the table as this is part of the experience, and we felt by the restaurant figing us "pre fab" before we even sat down they hurt our experience
Everyone, especially our waitress and management, was very helpful, friendly and inviting
Rachel Rachel Rachel Rachel I can't say her name enough. She was just the most pleasant waitress. Very cordial. My husband asked her to stop calling him sir. She engaged in conversation with us. We had to tell her manager Just how lovely she was. We couldn't ask for a better waiter.
At this point, we have no complaints - everything was perfect.
Every other time I have been to the melting pot, the waiters/waitresses seem to really love their jobs. That was not the case with our waitress last night. I felt a bit like we were an inconvenience to her. It wasn't very busy in there, yet our waitress barely gave us the time of day. Comparing it to every other visit, where the waitress will make conversation with you, stand at your table for a few minutes, and explain everything they are putting into the fondue, and never seem rushed, last night was the OPPOSITE. The waitress first pours the base for our cheese fondue while walking over to the next table, like she didn't stop at our table, she poured it fast, left the bottle, and kept walking. she didn't even finish pouring the remains of the bottle out and there was still a good amount left in the bottle so we took it upon ourselves to finish pouring it in the pot. She didn't explain what she was putting in the cheese fondue which isn't a big deal because it says everything on the menu, but she was rushing so much with stirring it like she had somewhere else to be that the cheese was spilling out of the sides as she was mixing it. honestly, the entire night she never readymade conversation with us and the longest she was at our table was when she was taking her order. It's suppose to be a fun and relaxing experience, but we all just felt like an inconvenience for her. Thankfully the food was still good, besides the portion of broccoli and potatoes which was barely enough for 1, never mind 3 people, and is how much I've gotten when I was only with a party of 2. the food was DELICIOUS, but just not as impressed with the service as in the past. The manager was very nice and did stop at the table, but none of us wanted to be a pain and complain when were were absolutely enjoying the taste of our food.
Alcoholic drinks came out quickly but regular drinks and water were delayed. Also could not locate Ashley when I needed another condiment for the meal.
Our waiter was fantastic. He was there every time we needed him, and he went above and beyond to satisfy my friends and I. Fondue was delicious, and I even got a happy birthday card! Overall, my birthday dinner was simply delicious and entertaining.
We enjoyed our chat with the receptionist... she definitely added to our experience
