We got the sweet additions plate and we were mildy disappointed that the cheesecake that came out was the red velvet cheesecake which we weren't a fan of. To improve it would've been nice to known what the seasonal cheesecake we were getting was so we could've asked to substitute or not ordered the additional plate.
The manager was very friendly amd apologized for the delay. All staff members were very aware of my shellfish allergy. I appreciated their concerns and each time a different staff member let me know they were aware of my situation and would work with me to ensure my allergy didn't affect my experience.
First of all, our waiter was NOT friendly! We were a very friendly table of 8 women, and it was obvious that he had no time for us! Second, while the food was good, we did not like that we had to wait an hour between each of the four courses, making dinner 4 hours long!!! Our drinks were not refilled without us begging and waiting even longer! Also, the room that we were in was very hot! At one point, we sat in front of boiling broth for 45 minutes with NO MEAT!
Perhaps it would have been simpler if the meat that required the same cooking time was on the tray near each other. The sauces were delicious, but it was confusing to keep them straight - perhaps labeling of some kind would have been more clear.
Jill was very attentive and she was friendly and always smiling. She was extremely knowledgable in explaining the process and helpful in making choices for us when we couldn't decide. She was definitely a shining star and we were lucky to have her as a server. The manager even stopped by to make sure we were doing well.
David and his staff were so kind and patient with our kids and us. We had a wonderful date night and it was a great experience!
We really don't have any improvements we can recommend, but we would recommend that servers dissuade people from using the coq au vin style with lobster, especially if paired with the garlic butter dip. The pasta also did not go over well either. I believe that because the ravioli was a sweet style spaghetti squash, it did not go well with the coq au vin either. A spinach style ravioli would have probably been better with the coq au vin.
The food tasted good, which is what brings us into the Melting Pot on a regular basis. The service was completely lacking. Coordination between the serving staff, kitchen, and bar was completely off. Time between a request and it being fulfilled was ~20min or more. The cheese course went relatively smoothly. We always order a double portion (4 servings) of the cheese course. From then on, it was nothing but waiting. There was roughly 20 minutes between cheese and salad. 45 minutes + between salad and main course. During this time, our cooking pot had to be refilled with broth three times, as it had boiled down so much. For the main course, we were brought a single serving plate for us to share (servings for both of us had been ordered). The server indicated that this could be corrected, but that we would have to wait for the kitchen to prepare the 2nd plate (as if letting us know it would be another 45 minutes). We ended up sending a glass of wine back to the bar (it arrived after the main course had completed). 20 minutes after the main course, dessert arrived. The burner was left on high, causing the chocolate to overheat and be almost inedible. The 2nd glass of wine which had been sent back was still on our bill when it was given to us; and had to be taken off. While many apologies were offered throughout the night, no action (compensation, etc) was taken to make up for these issues. And this wasn't just us. It was systemic. The party two booths in front of us left early out of frustration. The party of 4 in front of us experienced the .same issues and were given their drinks for the night. I'm glad that something was done for someone. This type of service is inexcusable for a restaurant like the Melting Pot. Better service can be had for a fraction of the price at any other restaurant. Granted this is a one time issue out of our many visits to the Melting Pot. It was bad enough, especially considering that nothing done about it, that I have no desire to be back to this location.
Staff was very friendly and courteous. We are always treated well every time we visit. We also very much enjoy the atmosphere.
    nothing, everything was perfect
